Life in Arlington, VA

We have almost been here a month and are loving it. Our house is amazing in every possible way, not a detail was overlooked. God provided this place for us; there is no doubt. Ask us the story sometime...my bad attitude and all.

Living close to Washington, DC has had perks such as being 10 minutes from the art gallery. I was out one day and received a text from Eric, "I am in the west wing of the gallery with the girls." Nice. Perhaps it is the difference of suburbs vs. city life, but it feels so much more small town. The neighbors all know each other. I think we met everyone on our court within the first two weeks. I-66 is 2 blocks away, but we can't hear it or see it. We live on a cul-de-sac with towering oak trees and a mom who puts a cone in the road when the kids are out to play. But at night from McCarthy's room, we see a beautiful city scape. We even have a small hardware store. For those who love Home Depot, this might not be for you, but for those who like not having a thousand options and who enjoy friendly people who remember you when you have been there twice in a day...I think that is pretty cool. Small town, who would have thought?!

More to come...

Love the new house! Sounds like you guys found a great new place for the kids to grow up! What a blessing considering the neighborhood you left and all the close friends you had there! :)
